We’ve all been there. In “that situation”. The one that leaves our head hanging a bit low and takes the spring out of our step.
He awkwardly settled into my office chair and gave me “that look”. That look that speaks volumes without words. That look that said, You’re probably not going to like what I’m about to say. He was right. I didn’t like it.
I dipped my toe into unfamiliar waters. The newness was warm and inviting. But after a short period of time, fear slithered in. Afraid to dip deeper, I pulled back. Back to safety. Back to the comfort of familiarity.
